Fashion, Men, and Sweets: My favorite things!!!
Well world, I’ve entered the world of blogging. I chose fashion, men, and sweets because those are the things that seem to have the biggest impact in my life right now. I’m 23, (almost 24), single and a Cancer. Yes, I’m a Cancer, so you pretty much understand where I’m coming from. I have a fashion degree and a passion for baking. I not only bake, but I analyze my baking. Is the texture on point? Is it too sweet? Is it moist? I ponder my baking because I eventually want to open a cupcake shop. I know it sounds too cute, but cuteness is one of the many aspects of my personality. My favorite thing to bake is red velvet cupcakes. I’ve tried a few recipes, and even bought red velvet at various locations. I don’t know if it’s the taste of red velvet, or the distinct appearance of a red colored cake that makes it so appealing to me. In either case, it’s become one of my favorites, and no, I’m not from the South.
When it comes to fashion, every time I leave the house is considered an event. Now, that doesn’t neccessarily mean that I’m dressed to the nines, but I believe that women should always look good when leaving the house. There was a time when we dressed to just go to someones house. Now, there are women walking around with pajamas, slippers, no makeup, and head scarves! The funniest thing about women who wear head scarves is that 90% of the time, they are wearing earrings. Okay, so you can’t be bothered to put of makeup or do your hair, yet you put earrings on. What’s the point? I’ve learned a lot about fashion lately, since I’ve been on a budget. I used to just go out, and shop like there was no tomorrow. Now, I find myself going through all the clothes I’ve bought over the years and making up outfits. It’s been kinda fun. I also experiment with pinning long dresses to make them appear shorter in length. When I interned at Escada three years ago, I made it a point to never wear the same outfit twice. I got through three months without ever wearing the same thing. I wore things multipe times, but I never wore the same exact outfit. I was very impressed. The two things which I believe are vital to have are good shoes and handbags. Everything else can be faked, but a fabulous bag can instantly up the value on any outfit.
Finally, there’s the man issue. I’m a Cancer, and we take relationships VERY seriously. I couldn’t see myself just dating any Joe Shmoe just because he’s a “nice guy”. My friends are a little worried about me because I’m the only one who is single and childless. I would love to get married and be a mother, (in that order), but I refuse to settle. Some may think I’m a little picky. I don’t like to say I’m picky, I’m just “selective”. I consider myself the complete package, and expect the same from a man. I’ve also learned a great deal about men over the past few years and look forward to sharing all of it.
Anyway, we’ll go into all of these topics as time goes on. I may even post a little bit on all three each post. I hope to share what I’ve learned with other women, or men. Men are welcome too!
Until next time!
